Preschoolers kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month at the ELC with a Mexican Independence Day celebration on Monday, September 16th. Students danced to traditional Mexican music, read bilingual books, such as Hooray, A Piñata, indulged in churros brought in by our generous families, and Ms. Karen’s class put on their chef’s hats to make their own churros from scratch!
Ms. Martinez’s class made, guacamole, while Ms. Sharon’s class crafted their own rainsticks, maracas, piñatas and played Lotería! It was so much fun to see students wear la ropa tradiciónal (traditional clothing) and engage in so many fun activities throughout the building!
