D123 Ed Foundation Hosts Annual Retired Staff Luncheon

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 understands the importance of staying connected within your community. On Friday, October 11, the District 123 Education Foundation invites retired staff to a luncheon for the chance to catch up with fellow retirees, listen to updates about the district, and hear how the Ed Foundation continues to provide exciting opportunities for students.

Through the Ed Foundation's various community events like Tacos and Trivia and the annual golf outing, the foundation is able to raise charitable donations to support innovative programming within the district. Recently, the Ed Foundation helped fund The Bears Den: Garden and Curling Center at Hannum through a Mini-Grant.

In addition to updates from Kelli Mason, chairperson for the foundation, and Superintendent Paul Enderle, everyone enjoyed an afternoon of light conversation, some fun trivia, and a celebratory lunch in the OLHMS Media Center.

“Hosting the retired staff luncheon allows the D123 Ed Foundation to stay connected to those who have helped make D123 a wonderful district,” Mason said. “It's important to us that we celebrate our D123 community, including retired staff and alum, and we want to honor District 123’s rich history.”
