Construction
The construction projects at District 123 are part of the long-range facility plan for the district. The projects should extend the life span of the current buildings 35 – 40 years and will enhance the learning environment of our students, staff and community use of the facilities.

- Brandt School is remodeled
2005
- Multipurpose rooms/cafeterias are built at Sward and Hometown schools
2003
- New gyms are built at Hannum and Kolmar
- Work begins on OLHMS, with construction to be completed for the school to open Fall 2005
2002
- District passes referendum for the construction of a new middle school (grades 6 – 7 – 8) to replace McGugan
2001
- Renovations are completed and an addition is built at Hannum School
2000
- Renovations are completed at Kolmar, Sward, and Covington Schools
1999
- Hometown School is remodeled and renovated
- Roofs are repaired and replaced at Kolmar, Sward and Covington Schools
- Renovations begin at Covington School
1998
- Board of Education approves plans to remodel and renovate the district’s five elementary schools and McGugan Junior High School over the course of three summers, with some smaller projects and completion taking place during the school years. The renovations will include windows, roofs, floors, ceilings, boilers, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing work. In addition, student and teacher desks and chairs will be replaced.
- Board of Education approves and sells 14.5 million dollars in Life Safety Bonds and 5 million dollars in Working Cash Fund Bonds to fund the first three years of the project.
