Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is excited to announce Lisa Vines as Hometown Elementary School’s Associate Principal for the 2025-26 school year. Families will have the opportunity to meet and greet with Lisa Vines during Hometown’s Pastries with Principals event on May 22nd from 3:30-4:30.

Mrs. Vines has dedicated 29 years to teaching within Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Governors State University. She also completed a Master’s in Educational Administration as well as a Master’s in Teaching English Language Learners. Throughout her career, she has taught first, third, fifth, and sixth grades. For the past 17 years, she has also served as the Assistant to the Principal at Hometown School.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Vines has been an active member of several committees, including the Core Leadership Team, Educational Development Committee, Emergency Response Crisis Management Team, and the School Improvement Plan Team. She has also served as the Safety Patrol Advisor and Spanish Club sponsor at Hometown School.
Mrs. Vines is married and has four adult children: twin daughters Faith and Lauren (25), both of whom are married, and two stepsons, Alex (23) and Nathan (21). Outside of her professional life, she is an enthusiastic traveler, with a passion for discovering new places and cultures. She enjoys learning different languages, especially Spanish and Italian. Some of her favorite destinations include Hawaii, Italy, and New Zealand.
Having spent her entire teaching career at Hometown School, Mrs. Vines is deeply committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for staff, students, and families. She values the tight-knit community and is excited to continue serving Hometown School in her new role.
Mrs. Vines has been an invaluable asset to Hometown School, demonstrating exceptional dedication and collaboration with teachers to create a positive and enriching learning environment for all students. Her ability to work closely with staff, offering guidance and support, has contributed greatly to the success of numerous initiatives and programs. Mrs. Vines’ commitment to fostering strong relationships and her passion for student growth make her an ideal fit for her new role as Associate Principal.
