To bolster its communication capabilities, Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 announced its partnership with SchoolNow, a leading mass communication platform tailored for one-to-many notifications. Designed to facilitate rapid and wide-reaching alerts, SchoolNow allows the district and individual schools to convey urgent and general announcements via voice, text, and email.
"While this tool significantly augments our ability to communicate important district-wide and school-wide messages swiftly, it does not replace our traditional classroom-to-home communication methods; platforms like Seesaw, Remind, Skyward, and standard email remain crucial for more personalized, classroom-level, and more individualized interactions and updates from teachers and staff.
As for the default notification preferences with SchoolNow, urgent messages are set to be relayed through email and, where applicable, as texts to mobile phones. General announcements, on the other hand, will be sent primarily via email. Nonetheless, these preferences are adjustable. Recipients can modify their settings by clicking "Manage Preferences" at the bottom of SchoolNow emails or following links provided in text messages. School District 123 urges everyone to ensure their contact preferences are updated in the messaging system and Skyward for optimal communication.
