Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is launching its 2023 Summer School Programs from June 12th to June 29th and July 10th to 13th at Kolmar School, offering a variety of educational and innovative enrichment classes for students in PreK-8th grade.
The summer programs are open to public, private, or parochial school students and offer various classes catering to different interests and age groups.
District 123's summer program promises an engaging experience for students, combining both recreational and educational activities. With "Launch" classes covering literacy, math, science, and social studies, students can also explore various topics, such as art, dance, sports, and technology, through the programs "Discovery" classes. The summer courses and learning experiences allow students to cultivate new interests while enjoying their summer break in a fun and engaging setting. Some popular classes include Harry Potter, Summer Spanish Camp, and Road Trip: Route 66. Class sizes are small to ensure individual attention, and registration is open at d123.org/summer.
"Our goal is to offer an assortment of interesting courses that ignite students' passion for various subjects, ranging from the thrilling history of Route 66 to courses that expose students to the skills and standards in their next grade-level," said Sarah McIntyre, School District 123 Summer School Principal.
Parents and students are encouraged to sign up early as classes are expected to fill up quickly.
"We are extremely excited to offer these incredible summer courses to the Oak Lawn and Hometown communities, and we can't wait to see students engaged in learning while having fun this summer," said Paul Enderle, School District 123 Superintendent.
