D123 Ed Foundation hosts community events to support innovative district programming.
Tacos & Trivia 2023 is back in-person and ready to test the trivial knowledge of community members on May 5, 2023, at St. Nicholas Church. The event, hosted by the D123 Ed Foundation, aims to raise funds for educational programs in the district.
The Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 Educational Foundation works in conjunction with the school district's long-term goals and the broader Oak Lawn-Hometown community to acquire and distribute financial and other resources to extend and enhance learning opportunities for all district stakeholders. The D123 Ed Foundation will use the funds raised from the event to encourage excellence and innovation among District 123 employees, enhance student learning opportunities, and develop and strengthen District 123 school/community relationships with parents, staff, alumni, staff alumni and other business, governmental, and individual community members.
"Encouraging excellence and innovation among District 123 employees, recognizing innovative work and community-building accomplishments, and enhancing student learning opportunities are some of the goals of the foundation," said Kelli Mason, of the D123 Ed Foundation.
Table teams of up to 10 people will compete in the trivia contest, vying for prizes for both the winning team and best table theme. Doors will open at 6:30 PM and trivia will start at 7:30 PM. Teams will also have the opportunity to pick up 10 tacos from Jalisco Express to bring to the event, thanks to a certificate provided by the foundation with registration.
"We're excited to bring back Tacos & Trivia this year and are looking forward to a night of fun and fundraising for our district's education programs," said Mason.
In addition to the trivia contest, the event will feature tons of raffles and silent auction items, providing even more opportunities to support the foundation's fundraising efforts. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks, appetizers, and desserts to share with their table, and to bring their own beverages.
"Competition is always fierce and there are some great games between rounds to keep everyone involved. We hope to see a great turnout at this year's event," said Mason. "Tacos & Trivia is always a great opportunity to come together as a community and support our district's educational programs. We can't wait to see everyone there!"
Registration is now open at d123edfoundation.org. Those with questions about the event can contact info@d123edfoundation.org for more information.
Overall, Tacos & Trivia 2023 promises to be a night of fun, community, and support for education in the district.
