Without being able to hold traditional performances in person, OLHMS band directors have developed a unique way for students to perform for their families virtually. While the performance included different sections of what would typically be an in-person concert including whole-group recorded portions, students also had an opportunity to play live for their families in their own homes.
Band Director Mrs. Beth Lyons reflected on the concert, “This presentation provided our learning community with the opportunity to celebrate our achievements together, to see the progress that’s been made and to acknowledge the hard work and perseverance of our Musical Mustangs. Although band is fully remote at OLHMS right now and we’ve made some changes to our performance goals, our main focus has remained the same: learning about music and building student’s skills with their instrument. We are humbled by the tremendous support of the entire D123 community, and we look forward to upcoming projects and performances. BAND ROCKS!”
