District 123 Community Unites for Intercultural Celebration

The Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 learning community came together on April 3, 2025, for an intercultural celebration night.

The Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School gymnasium was transformed into a multicultural festival with food from different countries and attendees dressed in traditional attire. There was dancing to a mariachi before dance troops and OLHMS students took center stage for their performances.

Thank you to Patty Gonzalez, Blanca Rodriguez, and Jennifer Mendoza for planning such a beautiful event to celebrate the cultural diversity of the District 123 community. Also, thank you to the English Learner team, the Sward PTA, Vanessa Rodriguez, and Abe Villarruel for their help during the evening.
