Principal Simpkins addresses the incoming 6th Grade Students and their parents as part of orientation.

Wide-eyed soon to be 6th graders and their parents made their way to Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School for 6th Grade Orientation. Following a welcome from Principal Kristin Simpkins the incoming class had the chance to check out all the middle school has to offer.

Student Ambassadors helped guide attendees to the gym where they could see all the clubs available to middle school students, talk to a school counselor or even learn more about elective class opportunities. Meanwhile, on the second floor of the middle school groups took a peek at the library and the 6th-grade classrooms.

“The OLHMS administration was thrilled to welcome our newest Mighty Mustangs to our learning community during our orientation event.  We were very pleased to meet so many families and make such positive connections with parents,” said Assistant Principal Dr. Laura Ferrell.

The 2019-2020 school year starts on August 21, 2019.
