Throughout the year District 123 schools have been participating in the American Heart Association’s Kid’s Heart Challenge. Through activities like Jump Rope for Heart, and daily interactive challenges students are encouraged to learn about their heart while helping others and raising money for the American Heart Association.
This year District 123 was able to donate a grand total of $58,653.88. These funds will go to the American Heart Association to assist children with heart conditions.
“We are extremely proud of the efforts of our District 123 students and staff in supporting the American Heart Association, through the Healthy Heart campaign. Service to our community and promoting a lifestyle of physical fitness are priorities that we hope to instill in each of our children. We are delighted to see these principles come to life in the positive actions of our schools,” said Superintendent Paul Enderle.
The American Heart Associations mission is that through Kids Heart Challenge, kids learn jump rope skills, how their heart works and raise money to help kids with special hearts. Have fun, learn how to stay healthy and make a difference in the lives of others.
