Summer is right around the corner and to keep your student sharp the Oak Lawn Library has programs to keep your child reading throughout the break.

In an effort to continually grow the community spirit of District 123 and build reciprocal relationships Mary Donovan, of the library spoke to students about the Summer reading program, Showtime at the Library, this year’s theme, starts June 1. Starting that day students can pick up a log at their local library and start tracking days they have read. Once they have read for 5 days, they can go to the library to check in and receive a raffle ticket for fun prizes, and even food coupons to Chipotle and Lou Malnati’s!

“Just like you do between games for sports, over the Summer you need to keep your brain in practice. The Summer Reading Program is an easy way to keep your brain sharp,” said Donovan.

Other programs the library offers during the Summer include Geocaching, Escape Rooms, and the Summer Movie Series. Library cards are free at the Oak Lawn Library.
