The Declamation team celebrates their 2nd place win

At their most recent Board of Education Meeting, the District 123 Board of Education was happy to celebrate the accomplishments of the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School Declamation Team.

The Declamation Team recently took second place overall in the state competition on April 9, 2019. Members of the team attended the meeting to introduce themselves and speak briefly about the pieces they performed at the event.

“The skills they learn while participating in declamation will help them succeed throughout their future endeavors. We are so proud of these outstanding students for representing not only Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle school, but our District and our Community so well in this state competition. Their hard work and determination has really paid off and we couldn’t be happier for these students, ” said Principal Kristin Simpkins.
