Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

Class of 2019

The Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School Class of 2019 has graduated! Last night the Oak Lawn-Hometown community gathered to celebrate the 360 graduates of the class of 2019.

Nerves were high as students gathered in the hallways, straightened stoles, hugged their friends, and said goodbye to their teachers one last time. This year felt different for the class, as they honored former Kolmar Student, Abby Wujcik, who would have graduated this year. The graduating class wore yellow ribbons to honor Abby and support the Live Like Abby Foundation. Wujcik’s father accepted the Distinguished Alumna award on her behalf. Kevin Wujcik noted that the D123 community raised over $56,000 this year for the LiveLikeAbby.org organization and went on to say to the graduation audience,

“I am proud and honored to accept this award and be here tonight and have my daughters name included with such a great group of students,” said Kevin Wujcik.

Then it was time to make their way to the gym where their families were waiting for the ceremony to begin. Dr. Enderle congratulated the students on their accomplishments thus far and encouraged them to take advantage of their future.

“Today you become part of the District 123 legacy. We celebrate you and thank you for being our newest inspiration. As you leave behind your elementary experience go confidently in the direction of your dreams, pursue your interests and passions. Find out what makes you, you, and build a pathway in that direction with faith, perseverance, and dedication,” he said.
