A Summer School class works on Aboriginal Art Projects
The Oak Lawn-Hometown District 123 Summer School program is underway and with over 700 students registered for classes, it’s the largest program to date. D123 Summer School offers summer programming for students in grades PreK – 8. The program isn’t just for in-district students, it is available to any public, private, or parochial student.
“Yes, we have students from all over the south suburbs and even students from Poland. It is our intention to create a community feeling during the summer. Having classes at OLHMS allows us to create a central HUB in the Oak Lawn community. All students are welcome to participate in our programs,” said Sarah McIntyre, Principal of D123 Summer School.
The classes are designed to offer enrichment opportunities, explore interest-based content, and provide on-going academic supports.
“Summer school allows students to explore various interests & opportunities that the regular school year might not provide. Like the school year, our programs are engaging and motivating to all students. We have a lot of fun during the summer,” said McIntyre
Classes run from June 17-27 then start back up July 8-18.
