On Friday, November 22nd, the halls of Sward Elementary were filled with excitement as first-grade students reveled in a well-deserved victory. The 2nd annual Glow Run fundraiser, sponsored by the Sward PTA, concluded with overwhelming success, raising more than $26,000 for the school. The first graders not only led the fundraising effort but also earned a unique and slimy reward: the chance to slime Principal Mrs. Amra. The Glow Run’s success would not have been possible without the dedication of the Sward PTA, who organized the event, and the generosity of parents, local businesses, and community members. The funds raised will go toward enhancing classroom resources, funding field trips, and supporting school-wide initiatives that benefit every student.
Students, staff and Sward PTA filled the gym on Friday afternoon to watch as first graders lined up to slime Mrs. Amra! The event was live streamed on YouTube and if you'd like to see all the fun, click this link. Sward School benefits from the Glow Run fundraiser and the students really enjoyed getting to Slime the Principal! Thanks Mrs. Amra for being such a good sport and motivating our little Eagles in their fundraising efforts. “I’m so proud of our students for their hard work and enthusiasm,” said Mrs. Amra, dripping in slime but beaming with pride. “The Glow Run fundraiser is always a highlight of the year, and this one was extra special thanks to the incredible support from our school community.”
Sward Elementary’s Glow Run fundraiser was a shining success, not only for the funds raised but also for the spirit of unity it fostered. And for the first graders, it’s safe to say this is a memory—and a victory—they’ll cherish for years to come.
