Sward hosted their annual Veterans Day celebration on Friday, November 8, 2024. The students-led assembly was attended by students, families, district administration, Sward community members and most importantly honored Veterans!
Sward’s Cub Scouts present the flags to open the assembly. Then the Sward Chorus led by Mrs. Glikis gave an outstanding performance of our national anthem and of This Land is Our Land. Our special guest speaker: D123’s School Resource Officer, Craig Zelhart, a Marine combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient spoke. Eagle Scout, Stephen Devine gave a remarkable performance of Taps to conclude the celebration. Students presented their Veteran guests with an American flag pin and enjoyed a delicious reception sponsored by local businesses.
