Sward has STEM club sponsored by Ms. Lettiere and this year she decided to give the ISIC Illinois Student Invention Convention a try. The students went through the invention process and program with her and made inventions, logbooks, and pitch videos to submit to the ISIC. The students worked very hard from December to March on these inventions to solve everyday problems. Students submitted their invention to ISIC and 2 groups of inventors went to the virtual science fair on Saturday April 6th. At this virutal science fair the students got to showcase their invention to a group of judges consisting of UIC professors, patenters, teachers, and grad students. During this time they presented their invention to the judges and peers across the state of Illinois. The judges then asked them questions about their logbooks, inventions, and invention process.
If the students move on in the competition they will be presenting in the ISIC showcase in Chicago in May!
