Sward's new Media Club has been working hard on finishing their first editions of our school newspaper "The Eagle Gazette", broadcast "Sward News Nation" and podcast "Eaglecast". The Media Club delievered newspapers to each classroom for the students to enjoy. Click here and you will find the first edition of Sward's Newspaper attached if you'd like to read it together! Additionally, we've attached links to our broadcast and podcast. The podcast includes a read aloud of The Koala Who Could for the little ones if you are interested! Sward's Media Club is sponsored by Ms. Glasgow. Students in 4th & 5th grade can participate in Media Club. Students are learning about a variety of multimedia styles and how to utilize them for communication. Students picked a team either podcast, broadcast or newspaper and they each have a role on their team. Students are learning about each type of media and the importance of keeping the Sward community informed. They are learning about journalism, how to effectively communicate, and more about their community. Students are responsible for coming up with their own content for the segments or article and they are even learning how to edit as well. We loved the first edition of the Eagle Gazette and are looking forward to the next issue!
