Sward staff and students have welcomed several new faces to our school and we will be introducing each of them to you over the next few weeks. Our next new Sward teacher we would like to introduce is Ms. Allison Simon who joins our Encore team as Sward's Art Teacher. We decided to interview Ms. Simon to get to know a little bit more about her. Students have been enjoying Art class once a week with Ms. Simon and are creating amazing pieces of artwork with her. We hope you will get the chance to meet Ms. Simon in person at Sward's open house tonight, so please stop by and introduce yourself. We know you'll love her the minute you meet her!
Where did you go to school?
I went to Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL.
Who inspired you to be a teacher?
My AP Art Studio teacher inspired me to become a teacher. I also attended the same university as him.
How long have you been a teacher?
This is my first year teaching!
What is your favorite thing to teach?
I specifically love to teach how to create pottery on the wheel.
What do you want Sward students to know about you?
I can speak two other languages, Spanish and Filipino! I enjoy learning new languages.
