Ms. Lettiere, Sward’s 5th Grade Teacher, has a huge heart for St. Jude Hospital. St. Jude leads the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Sward’s Kindness Club, sponsored by Mrs. Collura, and Ms. McCorry’s Friendship Club teamed up together to support her mission. These two clubs encouraged students to bring in donations for St. Jude Hospital in exchange for fun filled spirit days. “We raised $361.00 for St. Jude! The students wore blue and yellow, Ms. Lettiere’s favorite colors on Thursday, April 20th. On sunny Friday, April 21st, the students enjoyed extra recess. We were so proud of the Sward students participation." Mrs. Collura
Lincoln A. said, "I think the fundraiser was fun and a way to get a lot of money for St. Jude!" "I hope they use the money for cancer medicine for kids to help them get rid of cancer forever!"
Ms. Lettiere gave meaning to her miles while running the Nashville, Tennessee marathon on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
“I choose to donate to St. Jude because they are a wonderful charity that I have spent a lot of time and effort working with and donating to over the last 8 years. I was in an organization that teamed up with St. Jude to raise money through a number of events, and I have visited the hospital a few times. I love that I was able to donate $1,700 to help the kids and families at St. Jude.” Lettiere
Joey E, 4th Grader shared his research to encourage others,
