Mrs. Kramer collaborated with Mrs. Owens, Ms. Omiecinski and Ms. Ksaizek, the National Junior Honor Society sponsors at Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School to give the 7th and 8th graders some service hours by working alongside some of our Sward Eagles as Study Buddies. Students from OLHMS walk accompanied by their sponsor over to Sward where they partner up with Sward students in the library to work on anything from reading, writing, Fundations, and math fluency. Students are partnered up with an OLHMS student Monday through Thursday from 3:30-4:30PM. Our Sward Eagles really like working with the big kids from OLHMS and usually build a bond with their study buddy. We had this program for a few years before Covid and we're so excited to have this back in-person this year. We have seen such a positive impact on our students and their excitement to work with their buddies. The OLHMS students make such a difference with our Sward Eagles, and it's so wonderful to see former Sward students come back as NJHS candidates, you're making us so proud!
