On Wednesday, September 28th, Sward's Kindness Club hosted a "Welcome to Sward" lunch for all new students in grades 3, 4, & 5 as well as new staff. Mrs. Collura, the Kindness Club sponsor, said "kindness club students wrote out invitations and delivered them to new students in grades 3-5 and to our new staff members as well." The Kindness Club which consists of 11 members welcomed students who were new to Sward school to join them at lunch time to make some new friends. Students were asked to introduce themselves and say where they were from. Mrs. Collura reported that "one student came to Sward all the way from Columbia and another from the Philippines" to which all the students thought was really cool. New students could ask questions they were wondering about Sward School and Kindness Club members offered answers and suggestions. One of our new staff members, PE student teacher Ms. Gardner, led the group in some fun team-building games. It was a great day to be a Sward Eagle and meet new friends! A Special Thanks to Mrs. Collura and the Kindness Club for hosting such a fun activity and making new students feel welcome!
