Sward's Drama Club peformed "Funny Fairy Tales" for our 4th and 5th grade students on Wednesday, November 17th. Since the pandemic, this is the first Drama Club performance in over a year and a half and due to limiting the number of people in the audience, only the older students were invited to the in-school performance as well as parents of the student actors. The Drama Club consists of students in both 4th and 5th grades who have an interest in theatrical arts, student actors learn to devlop a sense of stage presence, how to project their voices, how to work as a team which in turn builds confidence, problem-solving skills and teaches students how to work under pressure.
All who attended the performance throughly enjoyed the show by the Sward actors and actresses. The Drama Club's teacher sponsor, Mrs. Collura said "I'm very proud of the cast. Since we switched to trimesters this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, we had a shorter rehearsal time. The actors put forth great effort to learn their lines and stage presence. The crew managed a lot in a very short time with microphones and set changes." Mrs. Smith, club co-sponsor said "I enjoyed seeing the cast gain confidence in themselves and their abilities." We are so trilled that students are able to participate in after-school activities again and can't wait for the next performance. Bravo Sward Drama Club!
