Oak Lawn-Hometown District 123 and Local Girl Scout Troop 60455 recently partnered together to make a helpful donation to Advocate Christ Hospital.
The District was able to donate 14 boxes of Clorox sanitizing wipes, masks, and other cleaning supplies that would otherwise go unused to the hospital that was in need of supplies due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Girl Scout Troop 60455 made the decision to donate their unsold cookies to an Oak Lawn food pantry and front line workers at Christ Hospital.
“We wanted to give back to bring a smile to front line workers because they understood the cruel hours these workers put in to help others. With the help of some generous donors, they were able to donate 60 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the hospital and 15 to a food pantry. We also created cards of encouragement to stay strong during these difficult times,” said Julie, a member of the Troop.
Oak Lawn-Hometown District 123 will continue to look for more opportunities to contribute to our community.
