Across District 123 this week “teachers” have been honored and celebrated in various ways. When we say “teachers,” we mean all those that have dedicated themselves and their work to the students of the Oak Lawn and Hometown communities. This week is for all staff members that stand in classrooms, offices, gymnasiums, lunch rooms and boiler rooms. Since 1984, the first full week in May has been designated as a special time to honor the individuals who lend their passion and skills to educating children. District 123 PTA/PTO/PTSA organizations have been providing experiences for staff members all week to show appreciation. This has included special lunches, raffles and many kind words.
We would like to extend our gratitude and highlight our teacher’s continued dedication to the mission of our School District and the children of our community. Each day, every District 123 teacher strives to make a difference in the lives of our students in incredibly meaningful ways. Being a member of our exceptional school district carries with it much responsibility and we thank each staff member for taking this responsibility seriously by consistently going the extra mile for our children. We truly appreciate the efforts of our teachers in helping “Prepare Today’s Learner for Tomorrow’s World”. -Paul Enderle, Superintendent
