“Tuesdays are the best day of the week, I look forward to Art Club with Mrs. Lee. Aleena,” a 5th Grader, shared.
Mrs. Lee, Sward’s Art Teacher, sponsors a fall and spring Art Club that meets after school. This smaller group environment provides the opportunity for students to engage in complicated and more detailed projects. Students used embroidery floss, pointy needles and created intricate designs on cotton fabric while mastering the basic stitch. Mrs. Lee discussed the importance of providing student choice to choose their content. Mrs. Lee, “My 5th grade art club artists amaze me."

All of these amazing projects will be on display at the D123’s Art Show on Thursday, Apr 27, 2023 from 7:00-8:30 at the Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School. We look forward to seeing you there.
