On Thursday, April 24th, OLHMS is excited to present our annual D123 Art Show! As a part of the District 123 Art Show, this exhibit shines a spotlight on the remarkable creativity of our students. Selected students and their families have received exclusive invitations to attend and explore the artwork on display in the OLHMS library. Throughout the school day, all students will have the opportunity to tour the exhibit and admire the work of their classmates.
In Ms. Petraitis’ art class, students have spent time each day developing their own creative projects using a variety of materials. These included tools like graphite pencils, crayons, colored pencils, watercolor paints, yarn, markers, and construction paper. Alongside these supplies, students experimented with a range of artistic methods such as creating symmetrical designs, sketching, collaging, weaving, combining mixed media, using value scales, and applying watercolor techniques to bring their artwork to life.
We can’t wait to see the OLHMS library come alive with colorful artwork and enthusiastic guests. A big thank you to our incredible students for sharing their talents, to the families for their continued encouragement, and to Ms. Petraitis for making this wonderful event possible!
