On the Thursday and Friday preceding Thanksgiving Break, 8th-grade counselor Mrs. Vanessa Follmar visited all four ELA classrooms to introduce Xello, an innovative program designed to facilitate career exploration and academic planning. Xello is a personalized platform that empowers students to gain valuable insight into local and national requirements for college and career readiness. Through this program, students cultivate intrinsic motivation, clarify their career aspirations, and explore their academic interests.
During the first Xello session, Mrs. Follmar provided an overview of the program, and students completed two of the four engaging modules: an interest inventory, a skills assessment, a learning style evaluation, and a personality profiler. These interactive assessments allowed students to reflect on their strengths and preferences, sparking enthusiasm for their future endeavors. Afterward, many students expressed their excitement for the program.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Follmar for guiding our Mustangs in turning their aspirations into reality. The 8th graders are eagerly anticipating the second Xello session in the coming months!
