At the start of our season, our Mustangs are showing steady improvement and determination with each game. Both our 6th/7th and 8th grade Lady Mustangs started strong, making a mark in their competitions. Coach Carmody’s 6th/7th grade team currently holds a record of 3-1, while Coach Danos’s 8th grade team remains undefeated at 4-0. Right from the beginning, the Lady Mustangs have consistently demonstrated resilience, dedication, and teamwork.
In Wednesday’s away game against Prairie View, Teagan, Olivia, and Riley led the team in scoring, while Sofia dominated the rebounds, grabbing an impressive number. The 6th/7th grade Lady Mustangs won by roughly 20 points, putting them in third place in the conference standings. For the 8th grade team, Christina, Maddie, Leah, and Reese scored a combined 25+ points. Aubrey, Leah, and Maddie made key rebounds, with Christina showing outstanding defensive skills. The 8th grade Lady Mustangs secured a five-point win over Prairie View, placing them second in the SWIC conference.
Best of luck to our Lady Mustangs as they take on Tinley and Orland Jr. High next week!
