On Saturday, August 24th, D123 families gathered to kick off our 123rd year at the Back to School Extravaganza! Families enjoyed the beautiful weather, indulged in delicious hot dogs and snacks, listened to fantastic music, and created lasting memories together.
From the moment our extravaganza began, students and parents filled the OLHMS space with excitement. The magic show left both adults and kids wanting more, while Gincy Hartin’s music concert drew in crowds. The day also featured a competitive inflatable obstacle course, a visit from our Oak lawn Fire Department, face painting, painting a school bus, head-to-head carnival games, and other activities from other local vendors. Emily, an 8th-grade student volunteer, shared, "I’ve helped out at D123’s Back to School Extravaganza the past few years, and it has been amazing to give back to my school and community!"
Thank you to our D123 families and volunteers for your dedication to our students, school, and community throughout the past 123 years. We look forward to an exciting and memorable school year!
