As the school year draws to a close, Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School proudly reflects on another year filled with achievements, memories, and growth. The 2023-2024 academic year has been a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff.
Throughout the year, students experienced a plethora of fun and educational activities. Field trips to museums, downtown Chicago, historical sites, and Midway Airport enriched their learning beyond the classroom. Our PTSA played a crucial role in keeping students engaged, organizing numerous events that brought joy and excitement to the school community.
Academic success was a cornerstone of this year's achievements. OLHMS saw significant growth in both Math and English Language Arts standardized testing. Our students demonstrated remarkable improvement, a testament to their hard work and the support from our dedicated educators.
Memorable assemblies and PBIS celebrations highlighted our commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. These events celebrated our students' achievements and reinforced the values of respect, responsibility, and kindness.
The end of the school year also marks a significant milestone for our 362 graduates, who are now ready to embark on their high school journey. These students have reached their goals and are prepared for the next chapter, thanks to the solid foundation they built at OLHMS.
It was also a standout year for our sports teams. Students displayed exceptional talent and sportsmanship across various disciplines, bringing home numerous victories and making the school proud.
As we bid farewell to this school year, we celebrate the achievements, the friendships, and the growth that defined it. We look forward to welcoming students back in the fall, ready to create more memories and reach new heights. Here's to another successful year at OLHMS!
