6th grade scholars participated in a team building challenge last week after reading the novel Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar. In the novel, the main characters have to work together as a team to make their way over a gully in the forest filled with toxic mud. 6th grade ELA teachers brought the gully to life by creating an obstacle course in the classroom. Students had to work together to inspect the gully, write clear and precise instructions, and get their teammate across the gully. This fun and engaging activity allowed students to practice their writing skills as well as speaking and listening skills. It’s always a great day when books can come to life!
