Our OLHMS Girls Volleyball program had their first away game of the season yesterday against Simmons. The Mustangs had a few games under their belt, but this game was different because they were playing their rivals- Simmons Middle School. In the 6/7th grade game, the first set was neck and neck. OLHMS started with a four point lead, but Simmons stayed in the game. By the end of the first set, the Mustangs won comfortably with a 25-14 victory. In the second match, the Lady Mustangs went to work and creamed Simmons 25-12 to win the match.
In the 8th grade game, our Lady Mustangs started the game ready to go! The Mustangs had a strong start with a 15-8 lead, but the Knights stayed in the game. But the Mustangs stayed composed and beat the Knights in two sets with final scores of 25-22 and 25-20. Haylee had excellent spikes in the middle, Layna had great sets, and Bella, Jocylne, and Sophia had beautiful aces to clinch the win. Our Lady Mustangs play Prairie View at home tonight and Jerling on the road this Thursday. Good luck to our Lady Mustangs!
