On Friday, October 20th, the D123 Retirement Luncheon was held in our beautiful OLHMS Media Center! Every year, our amazing and supportive Ed Foundation sponsors the retirement luncheon to honor our former teachers and administrators who have dedicated countless years to the field of education and our school district. We were so thankful to honor 30 former D123 staff members!
Karen O’Dea, friend of the Ed Foundation, transformed the OLHMS Media Center into a festive fall event for our D123 retirees. As soon as a retiree walked into the media center, they were welcomed in by 8th grade Ambassadors and escorted inside. Retirees were in awe when they saw how the OLHMS Media Center was transformed into a beautiful fall room. There was a “Welcome” table filled with pumpkins, flowers, and lanterns; a “Welcome” wall covered in beautiful leaves as a backdrop for pictures; tables decorated with fun fall decor, topped off with a delicious cake pop; fun fall games; as well as 8th grade Ambassadors serving and waiting on our retirees. Thank you to all of the Ed Foundation members who were able to make this beautiful event happen, our 8th grade Ambassadors, and, most importantly, our former D123 staff members who shaped the hearts and minds of endless students in our district.
