October 1st marks the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At OLHMS, staff members and students have committed to wearing the color pink every Wednesday! Last Wednesday was the first day we filled our hallways with various shades of pink, posters, and placed ribbons on the poles outside our beautiful building to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Additionally, staff members came together and organized a “Pink Treat Day,” which consisted of delicious sweets and drinks.
To further support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 6th grade ELA teacher Candace Hines started a collection, which will be donated to A Silver Lining Foundation. The mission and vision of this wonderful organization consists of providing equal and free access to health testing for all women.
