Our OLHMS Lady Mustangs are a force not to be reckoned with! Last Tuesday, our Lady Mustangs took on Orland for their first home game of the season. At the beginning of the game, our bats were alive and our girls were ready to hit the ball. Lailah, Addy, Bella, Sophia, and the Mustangs brought in 17 runs in the first three innings, making it a slaughter rule win. Not only was the offense on fire, but their defense held Orland to zero runs. A memorable defensive play was when an Orland player hit the ball deep into left field. Maddie sprinted for the ball and threw it to her relay, Sophia, who then threw it to McKenna at third, throwing the girl out with a perfect tag. Our Lady Mustangs had a similar situation in their second game of the season.
Last week against Prairie View, our Lady Mustangs carried over their positive energy. Bella pitched a shutout game and when she was at the bat with bases loaded, she sent the ball to the outfield, bringing in two Mustang runs. The Lady Mustangs had their bats active and beat Prairie View 16-0. When Bella was asked how she’s feeling about her 8th grade season, she said, “I’m feeling great and confident! It’s been a promising start to our season, and I can’t wait to see where we go.” Keep up your great work, Lady Mustangs!
