The CASE Store is open! CASE teachers and students have been preparing for the reopening of the CASE Store since COVID shut them down like so many other businesses. Each week, teachers and staff are able to place an order for the CASE Store. Some items include a variety of sodas, teas, hot chocolate, snacks, and candy! Each item only costs $1.00! Orders are placed throughout the week with delivery on Friday!
CASE scholars are able to work on their communication, money, and vocational skills all while preparing for having a job with the CASE Store! When students deliver the items to teachers, they practice greeting, adding and subtracting monies, handling food, and so many other important life skills. Mrs. Messina, CASE teacher, shared, “The CASE Store focuses on basic math skills, money skills, time management, social skills, communication/language, and daily/independent living skills. This gives them a sense of working and learning about how it is to have a job! It’s amazing seeing them work!”
Ms. Orloff also chimed in saying “I always get excited when I see my CASE buddies when they make their deliveries! Not only are we promoting self-confidence in our students and important skills to function in the real world, but their smiling faces and treats they bring are always the Friday pick-me-up I need!”
