With a few weeks left in our girls basketball season, our Mustangs are learning and improving every game. After the Lady Mustang played against Liberty yesterday, Coach Carmody and her 6/7 grade team have a current record of 7-1, and Ms. Danos and her 8th grade team are currently 6-2. From the start of their season, our Lady Mustangs have shown grit, perseverance, and teamwork on a daily basis. In yesterday’s game, Sophia F. And Nadine led all scorers with a combine total of 20 points, and Lucy W. dominated the boards collecting nine rebounds. The 6/7th grade Lady Mustangs beat Liberty 29-16, which currently places them third in the conference. For our 8th grade Mustangs, Lexie F. and Olivia P. stole the show with over 20 points combined. Zofia, Kayla, and Olivia G. crashed the boards, and Clark Z. put great pressure on the Liberty guards, which forced several turnovers. Our 8th grade Lady Mustangs beat Liberty 40-13, which currently places them fourth in the conference. After both of our Lady Mustang teams brough home two wins, they are shifting gears to prepare for Palos this afternoon. When Riley K. was asked what are some key components to beating Palos, she stated that "we need to box out, communicate, make good passes, and continue to play together as a team."
