Students and staff at OLHMS participated in a “PINK” day to support Breast Cancer Awareness month. The halls of OLHMS were decorated with pink signs and everyone wore their favorite pink outfit. Staff brought in pink treats to enjoy including pink lemonade, pink cookies, pink cupcakes, pink candy, and more!
ELA teacher, Mrs. Candace Hines, collected donations from staff to support A Silver Lining Foundation. A Silver Lining Foundation is the ONLY organization in Illinois that funds breast cancer screening and diagnostic testing based on need. NO ONE is turned away. ASLF works with 16 partner hospitals throughout Chicagoland, Rockford, Evanston, Hinsdale and Des Plaines. This year alone, so far, over 1,100 women have received free breast cancer screenings. 18 of these women were diagnosed with cancer and have received cost-free care.
OLHMS is proud to provide awareness for such an important cause and foundation!
