On Tuesday, September 20th, OLHMS staff welcomed scholars and their families into the building for Open House! Grade level teams presented the ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies curricula to families, answered questions, and made more positive connections. Encore, Interventionist, and Support Staff also participated in the presentations about their specific courses.
Families were welcomed by the D123 Administration and Board of Education into the beautiful building. 8th grade Student Ambassadors helped families navigate the building. The newly renovated Media Center was also open for OLHMS scholars and their families to explore! Everyone who we spoke to was truly impressed by the Media Center renovations! 6th grader, Brenna, shared “I didn’t realize how big the Media Center was! I’m so excited for my ELA class next week because we are checking out books and get to spend the entire class period in the Media Center!”
The 2022 Open House was truly a huge success! OLHMS scholars and their families were excited to have some normality after the recent years’ restrictions. We are glad to have our Mustangs and their families back in our beautiful building!
