This past Saturday, September 17th, District 123 partnered with World Vision for the 6th Annual 6k Walk to Water event at OLHMS! World Vision is a Christian International Humanitarian Organization founded in 1950 by Robert Pierce, an American Baptist minister and relief worker. Today, World Vision has helped more than 3.5 million children in nearly 100 countries.
In District 123’s final year of the 6k Walk to Water event, we had over 125 participants who raised $2,895 and spread awareness for individuals in Africa to have clean water. 8th grader Aiden said “It felt very good to help people in Africa get clean water. I appreciated all of the support as I was running- it was great to see so many people there.” Thank you Mrs. Heather McCarthy and Mrs. Kate Ryan for starting this initiative, and everyone who volunteered to make this event happen!
