Adaptability makes physical education possible for everyone

Mr. Snee working with a student during Adaptive PE

The CASE students and staff at OLHMS always look forward to Thursdays! PE class gets a lot more fun when the wonderful Adapted PE teachers from Adaptability visit with engaging and exciting lessons for these students and their teachers! Charlie Rowe, Founder of Adaptability and Lead Adapted PE teacher, and John Snee, Adapted PE teacher, work with the CASE students every week to provide adapted physical education classes to meet the specific needs of students with diverse abilities.

There are two types of Adaptive PE classes held at the middle school. For two periods, Mr. Rowe and Mr. Snee push into the general education PE class and work with all students in the class in an inclusive environment. Then, both Mr. Rowe and Mr. Snee host two of their own PE classes just for the CASE students. These classes provide students the opportunity to focus on their specific needs in a smaller setting. Some of the activities students participate in are hockey, tennis, basketball, volleyball, scooter races, and many other sports.
