Our OLHMS Lady Mustangs walked on our home court for a final time last Friday, February 18th against Simmons. Coach Merkle and her Lady Mustangs advanced to 13-0 with their two set win over Simmons. In the first set, Peyton C. swept the court with countless spikes to pave a path towards victory. In the second and final set, Katie H. protected the net and had memorable plays, Lizzy served with confidence and scored several aces, as well as Julie M. eloquently set the ball to help the Mustangs earn a win. Our 8th grade Mustangs had hand-made posters created by the 6/7 grade team, professional posters, specialty cookies baked, and roses to wrap up the end of their volleyball career as a Mustang. With playoffs quickly approaching next week, our girls sit comfortably in first place. The 8th grade Lady Mustangs will defend their championship reign next week as they take on their first appointment on Saturday, March 5th.
