The Kolmar 5th grade enrichment students had a wonderful idea to have a fundraiser for Project Fire Buddies. They decided to hold a penny war competition at Kolmar over the span of a week. Students in each grade had a jug to fill for their grade-pennies would give them points- silver coins would deduct points. Our students had an absolute blast doing this! Our kindergarteners were the winners! Their prize was 30 minutes of free play time with the 5th grade enrichment students. But really, everyone was a winner here because they raised money for such a great cause and had fun while doing it! The Oak Lawn Fire Department came to Kolmar and the enrichment students presented them with the check. Way to go, Coyotes!
