At the end of September Kolmar 2nd graders took a field trip to Morton Arboretum! This field trip aligns perfectly with their current Science unit, plant and animal relationships. Students enjoyed playing in the children’s garden in the morning, especially running around in the maze! Students also enjoyed a picnic lunch, even though it was a bit windy! In the afternoon the students participated in a guided program led by a volunteer at the arboretum. Students got to take apart seeds, walk the grounds, do a meditative nature walk, and see lots of different plants! Students, teachers, and chaperones all had a wonderful time! Thank you to our 2nd grade team for putting this field trip together and to all of the chaperones who donated their time!
