Here at Kolmar we believe that getting students of all ages interacting helps to build a positive school community. For years now our 5th and 1st grade students have been paired up in a buddy system. They work together on projects and games, they read books together, and even have holiday celebrations together. The 1st graders look up to the 5th graders and the 5th graders enjoy teaching and guiding the younger kids. Both grades look forward to the meetings and always leave with smiles on their faces. The teachers all enjoy watching the camaraderie between the students grow throughout the year! It is definitely something everyone plans to continue in years to come!
