Cancer absolutely messed with the wrong kid and the wrong family. Patrick is a kindergartener at Kolmar who has been battling cancer for the past few years and he has successfully completed his treatment. To celebrate the end of his treatment and to show him how proud of him the community is, he had a special arrival to school on Friday, February 16th. The Oak Lawn Fire Department picked Patrick and his sisters up in a fire truck for their ride to school. Upon arrival the whole school was waiting with signs, balloons, decorations and a parade. Everyone involved was absolutely thrilled to be celebrating Patrick and his strength, courage, and happiness. Patrick is ready to live his normal kindergarten life, playing with his friends, playing sports, and spending time with his family. Thank you to the OLFD for making the morning extra special, but it of course was easy to celebrate such an amazing kid!
