7th grade students read stories to the younger students during Service Learning Day
On April 25, our seventh grade students took a break from the classroom and returned to Hometown for a special Service Learning Day—an annual tradition that combines community service with real-world learning.
The day was filled with fun for all the students. Seventh graders worked with the grade school students reading stories, coloring, creating projects, going to encores with the students and even sharing in a meaningful project! The entire school went outside with our seventh grade friends and blew bubbles for autism! These students showed incredible teamwork, leadership, and care for the little hornets.
“It felt good to give back to a place that’s given so much to us,” said one student. “We learned that even small actions can have a big impact.”
Teachers were thrilled to see the students in action. Many stopped to thank them for their efforts. This hands-on experience is part of the school’s broader mission to develop compassionate, responsible citizens. “It’s more than a field trip—it’s about connecting with the community and understanding the importance of service,” said one of the seventh grade teachers.
We’re so proud of our seventh graders for their hard work, positive attitudes, and big hearts!
