Catch Mrs. Sweetser on the Wheel of Fortune on 12/23
Make sure you watch The Wheel of Fortune on Monday December 23 on ABC 7 at 6:30 to see Hometown Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Sweetser. Last December, Mrs. Sweetser was watching an episode of the Wheel of Fortune and her son said, "You love this so much, you should apply to be on the show." With the impending retirement of Pat Sajak, she decided this was her time to try out. After submitting an audition tape, she was asked to do a zoom interview with the producers. She received the news in February that she was moving on to the next round of auditions. This round included competing against other potential contestants solving puzzles. After that round of auditions, she was asked to participate in a final round of auditions. The producers told her she would receive an email if she was chosen. The Sony Company had up to a year to give her a call back. In early July, she received an email asking her to fly out to Los Angeles and be a contestant. Her whole family flew out to LA to tape the episode on July 26. Due to signing a NDA form, no one in her family has spilled the beans on how the show ended up. So tune in this Monday to watch Mrs. Sweetser make her debut on the Wheel (she is the red contestant.). "It truly was a dream come true. I have grown up watching this show with my grandparents, then my own parents and now we watch it every night with my own family. My kids learned their letters watching the Wheel and we have so many memories with this show. I vowed if I ever made it on the show I would NEVER buy a vowel....tune in to see if I held true to my word."
